all over hanoi, as you're walking, strangers on motorcycles offer you a ride, saying madame.... moto-biiiiike? inevitably with the same inflection. these are people i imagine who are on their way from one place to another anyways and are just looking for extra cash.
but occasionally they camp out on a corner until they get a taker. a ride usually costs 50 cents. and they even provide you with a helmet!
