back to the beginning....


airline breakfast. Cathay Pacific's 15-hour LA-to-Hong-Kong flight landing at the dark hour of 5am. a salty rice soup with mushroom and shrimp, plus some more recognizable food. a friendly Chinese art curator gave me tips on what to see there during my 11-hour layover and insisted that i'd always have somewhere to stay in Shanghai.
